About the Facility:

The 30/30 Project and Construction for Change are eager to break ground in early 2020 on the final stage of the Matibabu hospital - a combined surgical suite and emergency room (typically referred to in Kenya as the “Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department”). This will entail constructing a facility that houses two operating theaters, pre-op and post-op rooms, an emergency room with 6 adult beds and 4 pediatric beds, which will allow for an observation area within the confines of the A&E Department or Casualty. Surgeons will be able to conduct obstetric, gynecologic, abdominal, ophthalmology, ENT, orthopedic, urology, and plastic surgeries. Matibabu Hospital expects to perform more than 450 surgeries in the first year of operation, with that number increasing each year thereafter.
