About the Facility:
Currently entering phase two of construction, this community center will serve over 10,000 people as well as contribute to eliminating the stigmatization of HIV/AIDS, serving patients impacted by HIV/AIDS, and making the population aware of the risks associated with HIV transmission.
This community center in Bolivia will serve people with HIV and their families, young people vulnerable to HIV, LGTB community, public school students, health personnel, medical students and local authorities. Programs here focus on education, healthcare, and human rights and empowerment. Services such as support groups, health consultations, counseling, and testing will be offered here.
The Community Care Center will consist of: a clinic dedicated to LGBT people, dental surgery, a counselling and psychological support room, a laboratory and infirmary, a reception and information desk with a cashier, a finance office, an archive room, a pharmacy with a storage room, a waiting room, a garage, a courtyard, a quiet room, electricity room, and a small house for surveillance and security.
Why …?
This population is currently lacking a confidential space for individual consultations and group activities to respond to multiple issues specific to HIV/AIDS and the LGBT community, adolescents and young people of both sexes with medical, peer support and psychological care.
